EXPERIENCE MATTERS.

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Mr. Stafford was an honor graduate of Monterey High School and entered the Plan ll honors program at the The University of Texas in 1970. After spending ten years in Austin, Texas, where he attended UT, worked for three speakers of the house, and directed a committee staff, he relocated to Denton County and got into the land development and property management business. In the mid-80’s he adopted a sibling group of four, and in 1988 was elected to the Denton ISD Board of Trustees. He has since been re-elected eight times. In 1994 he and Debbie Johnson formed a real estate partnership that has thrived through boom and bust economic cycles. They are proficient in all real estate transactions: including residential, commercial, farms and ranch, investment, and development. Charles consults with institutional buyers such as school districts, real estate developers, and universities. He assists in accommodating their growth needs for the future. He understands the value of long-term master planning to organizational health. Denton County judges frequently appoint Charles and Debbie as receivers and as special commissioners in Denton County condemnation cases. Stafford is also actively involved in numerous business, professional, and charitable organizations. He is a long-time supporter of the Chamber of Commerce. He participates in activities designed to raise awareness among our elected officials on business, educational, and quality of life issues. He helped develop the first Texas Association of School Boards business forum, which fosters and strengthens partnerships between schools and businesses. He also served as a director of the Texas Association of School Boards for 12 years, including service as its President. Stafford has raised seven children and seven grandchildren and is very active in the community. “Our team believes in giving back to the community from which we have received so much.” Some of his service commitments include: Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County-Founding Board President, Communities in Schools of North Texas-Board member and Officer, Mexican American School Boards Association- Board member and Officer, Denton Noon Kiwanis member, Denton Central Appraisal District- Officer and Board member, Denton ISD Board of Trustees (24 Years), Denton Public Education Foundation- Founding Board President, Greater Denton Wise County Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Green Light to Greatness Capital Campaign Co-Chair for the College of Public Affairs and Community, The University of North Texas, Guys / Girls Operating as Leaders (GOAL).
