OBSESSED WITH SERVICE.

As I write this “bio,” it occurs to me that perhaps you would like to hear a bit about me personally before deciding to work with my team and me. I am hopeful that you will be interested in my best character traits, integrity, and work ethic. Buying and selling real estate is an important and emotional part of most people’s lives. I have consistently been what our industry refers to as a top producer. I will not bore you with the statistical bragging rights of my success. Suffice it to say that I have successfully navigated and thrived during the ups and downs of the real estate market since 1984. I am currently the co-owner and Managing Broker of Stafford Team Real Estate. My Real Estate career spans the areas of residential, farm and ranch, commercial, investment, consultation, and land development. I am a mom of three wonderful kids who are my pride and joy. Being a single parent for many years gave me insight into the struggles encountered by single parents. It also allowed me to develop many valuable skills in the business, including conversation, interrogation, negotiation, and closing a deal. I often considered myself a wrangler of children, animals, and my real estate business. For those non-Texans, the wranglers typically were on a fast horse and kept the horses, cattle, and the chuckwagon headed in the right direction. When Charles and I married, we had been business partners for many years. We combined seven children, six dogs, six cats, one snake, and a guinea pig. On any given day, we could be found on a spectrum somewhere between the Adams Family to the Brady Bunch. Charles and I share a good sense of humor, our best survival skill. Charles attended the University of Texas, and I attended the University of North Texas. Contrary to popular belief, burnt orange and mean green do indeed complement each other. Charles grew up in West Texas and brought those characteristics embedded in West Texas natives, including the ability to be an incredible storyteller. Charles’ work ethic is extraordinary and serves our family, clients, and local charities well. I am a Denton native but have also lived in Dallas, Missouri, and graduated from high school in Ohio. I grew up with three sets of grandparents whose occupations included- a peanut farmer, a seamstress, a mayor, a dry cleaner shop owner, an artist, a radio shop owner, and a dry goods store owner. One set of grandparents had the oldest radio shop in Texas, located in Denton on the square. They were also good friends with movie director Cecil B. DeMille. (a bit of trivia) Out of all the family mentors, my father was the most powerful influence on my life. He would say, “Help everybody you can afford to help, and don’t look back and judge what they did or didn’t do with your help…”. I have applied this thinking to my actions in life. I mention all this to say that I come from hard-working, generous people who set a fabulous example of work-ethic and community leadership. I bring much of their rural values and integrity to the real estate table. They rose from an agricultural background to become merchants and entrepreneurs. That led them to be leaders in business, church, and civic matters. Their examples of hard work and honest dealings have greatly influenced the family through the years. I invest my time and heart in making our community a better place. I am a passionate supporter of non-profit boards focusing on causes for children and animals. To name a few: Denton Animal Shelter Foundation, Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County, Denton Benefit League, and Fred Moore Day Nursery School. I was instrumental in raising capital for Habitat for Humanity’s first all-women home build in Denton. I have also served many years for my alma mater on the College of Visual Arts and Design Advisory and Advancement Council. Charles and I co-chaired the University of North Texas Green Light for Greatness Campaign for the College of Public Affairs and Community Service. I also continue to support a few equine and canine rescue groups. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Texas. I was also a barrier breaker for the University of NorthTexas as the first female to earn a Master of Science in Industrial Arts. This accomplishment provided the tools and drive to become the first female Industrial Arts shop teacher in the Ft. Worth ISD. With an art background as a foundation, I firmly embrace the concept that each property should have elevations with distinctive character and personality. I’ve always said that it is essential to be able to recognize your home after dark! With my unique background insight, I managed the development of Thistle Hill Estates, where each house has unique custom designs. We love our community, our family, and our professions. We encourage you to become part of our community- a great place to live, work, play and learn.
